Waroona Australia Day Celebrations

Shire of Waroona offers a free, locally accessible event, uniting our community to reflect, respect & celebrate the meaning of Australia Day and being Australian. In addition to celebrating our active, outstanding citizens of the year, we will exhibit local artwork that will proudly recognize and promote a wide variety of local creative artists, including Indigenous creators. The display will showcase our diverse local landscapes, from sea to scarp, through various mediums, primarily canvas and photography. We will honour and celebrate a deeper connection to our country and our First Nations people and their families as we reflect, respect and celebrate our connected cultures. Our First Nations residents will participate through our Acknowledgement of Country, a Smoking Ceremony, flag raising and storytelling. The Waroona Lions will offer their Aussie Cooked Breakfast, and we will have local musicians, a magician and children's entertainment performing.
