We invite all Victorians to Reflect, Respect and Celebrate Australia Day.
Victorians are invited to a range of events to respect, reflect and celebrate Australia Day 2025, including family-friendly activities at Fed Square and the annual Government House Open Day.
Australia Day 2025 will start with a flag-raising ceremony at Government House, available for members of the public to view via a livestream. You can witness a 21-gun salute at the Shrine of Remembrance.
Multicultural community leaders from Victoria have been invited to the flag-raising ceremony at Government House to acknowledge the important work they do to promote an inclusive state.
At Fed Square, an all-day program of free family-friendly activities will begin at 10 am. The day's program includes viral sensation DJ Lenny Pearce, the beloved Junkyard Beats, hands-on craft activities, and free food and drinks. The Australian Open men's final will be broadcast live on the big screen for all to watch from 6 pm until late.
At Government House, you can explore the grounds and State Apartments, picnic on the Western Lawn, and enjoy a variety of roving performers. You can also find out more about community groups such as the St John Ambulance Victoria, State Emergency Service, Country Fire Authority, and Life Saving Victoria among others.
A Royal Australian Air Force aircraft will fly over in the skies above. The spectacular flyover will be visible from Government House, Federation Square and the Shrine of Remembrance.
