Cairns Regional Council invites the community to enjoy Great Australian Bites at Munro Martin Parklands, a free, family-friendly evening packed with fun, culture, and entertainment. Head along on Monday 26 January 2026, with gates opening at 4:30pm for a relaxed tropical atmosphere celebrating community spirit.
The evening kicks off with the Australia Day Awards from 5:00pm to 6:00pm, recognising outstanding local community members. After the ceremony, the park comes alive with local musicians, cultural performances, and children’s activities for all ages until 8:00pm.
Families can enjoy face painting, Bugzy Bumblebee, jumping castle, mini golf, and creative palm weaving. Foodies can enjoy free locally sourced bites while supplies last.
Bring your friends and family for an evening of local talent, delicious food, and community connection under the stars at Munro Martin Parklands.
The Great Australian Bites is proudly supported by the Queensland Government and assisted by the Australian Government through the National Australia Day Council as part of Queensland's Australia Day program.
