Australia Day

The Way We Do Australia Day is a reference to how Australia Day is done in East Arnhem Land: Yolŋu and Ngapaki recognising the day for different reasons, but as one. An event at the Nhulunbuy Town Hall that includes a citizenship ceremony, awards and what the day means to so many. This event brings people together and is renowned for inclusion, sharing stories on Australia Day through song and dance. It's a way of also bringing our community together to share in congratulating our peers for the hard work that they have done in our community and we get to celebrate our new Nhulunbuy residents as new Australians.
