CEO position at the NADC

The National Australia Day Council (NADC) is the coordinating body for Australia Day celebrations across the nation and for the Australian of the Year Awards.

The NADC works in partnership with governments, communities and civic mindedindividuals and organisations to inspire national pride and spirit to enrich the life ofthe nation. The Australia Day National Network is an affi liate group of eight State andTerritory Australia Day offi cial organisations and 780 local Australia Day committeeswho work together with the NADC to facilitate the celebration of Australia Day andbeing Australian. NADC is a company of the Australian Government within the PrimeMinister’s portfolio of responsibilities.

The current CEO’s move to a new role in multicultural affairs has created theopportunity for a talented individual with a demonstrated track record of managing anational or other signifi cant organisation to lead the NADC into its next phase.

The position is based in Canberra and requires strong strategic, organisational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead and motivate a committed team ofstaff and outsourced providers and the network of State/Territory and local AustraliaDay organisations. The CEO will communicate and manage relationships withGovernments, business and communities across all levels of Australian society.

Reporting to a Board, the CEO will provide effective leadership of this organisationand will demonstrate prior experience in communications, marketing, sponsorshipand events management on a national or international scale. They will have a genuinecommitment to and understanding of Australian values and to strengthening the civic culture of the community, supported by a sound knowledge of the private sector, government and communities.
