Paul Sheahan
Drysdale Ambassador

Best known to students of Melbourne Grammar School as Headmaster, Paul Sheahan has worked all over the education sector. After attending Geelong College, and doing a DipEd at the University of Melbourne while a resident at Ormond College, and doing a MEd Prelim at the University of Adelaide, Paul joined the Victorian Education Department in 1970. After two years he moved to Geelong Grammar School, and by 1973 was assistant master. From 1979 until 1983 he was the Housemaster of Manifold House, Winchester College (UK). The mid-80s saw Paul moving to South Australia to be Second Master at St Peter’s College, moving to become Principal of Geelong College in 1986. From 1995 Melbourne Grammar has been his home away from home, ruling the roost as Headmaster until the end of 2009.
But Paul is not all about teaching young minds. He enjoyed being a Victorian Sheffield Shield Cricketer from 1965 until 1974, and played on the Australian Test Team from ’67 until 1974. Closely involved with the Sir Robert Menzies Foundation, he has served as a member of its council and its Director. If that isn’t enough, he is also on the MCC’s committee, the council of the Incorporated Association of Registered Teachers of Victoria (11 years until 2000) and many more (listed below).
Paul is also a golfer, and even has some post-nominals on his name (KSJ – a Knight of the Sovereign Order of St John of Jerusalem). He also continues to play regional club cricket in Geelong.
