Dr Don Bowley OAM
A familiar figure throughout north-west Queensland, Dr Don Bowley joined the Royal Flying Doctor Service in 1996. Don worked at the Broken Hill and Charleville bases before transferring to the Mount Isa base where he has worked as the Senior Medical Officer for 15 years. Don is loved by the people he treats and also the people with whom he works, with professionalism and skills of the highest quality. Don was named Queensland’s Local Hero in the Australian of the Year Awards 2011 and awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2012.
